Development of nanoscale SCR catalysts for combined NOx and soot reduction in diesel engines

Due to their efficiency and high performance, diesel engines are used worldwide as drives in e.g., busses, heavy commercial vehicles, and machines. Nox and soot from diesel engines must be reduced drastically to meet the high legal particle and nitrogen oxide emission reduction standards expected for the future.
Nano-SCR is aimed at developing soot particle filters that are provided with nanoscale catalysts for reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions. Emphasis is placed on the development of smallest possible, non-aging catalysts that will endure the life of the vehicle. Concepts will be devised for a new generation of space- and weight-saving filter catalyst systems and for easy-to-install exhaust gas after-treatment components for vehicles and systems equipped with diesel engines.
