Assessment of the environmental hazards
of silver nanomaterials: From chemical
particles to technical products

UMSICHT intends to study and better understand the behavior, fate, and impacts of silver nanoparticles in the environment. Methods for production and detection of silver nanoparticles of different sizes, shapes or surface coatings are developed or optimized in addition. The properties of the particles decisively influence their environmental behavior and effects. Within the framework of a subproject, wear debris from real textile products are produced and studied under realistic conditions within different scenarios.
