NanoTrack

Nanoparticle life cycle studies based on [45Ti]TiO2 and [105Ag] Ag0

NanoTrack is dedicated to investigating the behavior of nanostructured titanium oxide and silver particles from nanocomposite varnishes during wear, release, and transport. The project, in addition, focuses on studying the impacts of such particles on ecosystems. The processes and boundary conditions of particle release to the environment are assessed qualitatively and quantitatively to derive environmental requirements. An interdisciplinary approach with industrial and academic partners from materials sciences, geosciences, and ecotoxicology has been selected to solve related complex issues in the sense of preventive environmental protection.
