Mobility of synthetic nanoparticles in water-saturated and variably water-saturated subsoils
NanoFlow investigates the impacts of synthetic nanoparticles on the environment placing emphasis on studies of the behavior and effects on soils and groundwater of materials as well as of products containing integrated functional nanomaterials. The movability of nanomaterials in subsoils is studied by means of basic techniques and standard testing methods developed for assessment of the relevant mechanisms of action and thresholds. The results will serve to derive laws on the mobility, stability, and interactions of the investigated materials with soils and water. Finally, models for assessment of the risks of the propagation of nanoparticles in soils and aquifers will be developed.
