3rd Call ERA-NET SIINN

The third Call for proposals of SIINN - Safe Implementation of Innovative Nanoscience and Nanotechnology has been opened on 1st October 2014. The deadline for submitting proposals is 16th January 2015, 12:00 CET (7:00 Washington D.C. time).

For this 3rd SIINN call, seven European funding agencies (from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Region Nord-Pas de Calais (France), Portugal, Romania and Spain) and three US funding agencies have together allocated over 6.1 million Euros to fund joint transnational research projects. Project partners will be funded by their national or regional funding organizations according to standard national or regional procedures. The call is targeted at universities, research institutes and companies who can contribute to the goals of SIINN. Proposal applications must be submitted by the 16th January 2015, 12.00 CET (07.00 am Washington time).

Emphasis will be put on proposals addressing industrially relevant environmental, health and safety (EHS) aspects of nanoscale technologies:

  1. Exposure assessment
  2. Toxicity mechanisms
  3. Effects of manufactured nanomaterials (MNM) on human health
  4. Environmental impacts of MNMs

Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve a minimum of three independent organisations from at least two regions/countries participating in the call. Projects must last three years. Each applicant must contact his/her national contact person to check for national/regional funding rules and regulation. All documents are available at the SIINN website www.siinn.eu.

For further information on the call (Flyer; PDF 200 KB), supporting information and each country's contact persons please visit http://www.siinn.eu/en/joint-calls/2014-third-siinn-call/,161
