On June 18th2013 the SIINN “Safe Implementation of Innovative Nanoscience and Nanotechnology“ 2ndCall forProposals2013 was opened. Deadline for submission of project applications is 31stOctober 2013, 12:00 am CET.

The SIINN ERA-NET promotes the safe and rapid transfer of European research results in nanoscience and nanotechnology (N&N) into industrial applications. National and regional ressources will create a transnational programme of research. SIINN will bring together today’s fragmented research activities on the potential risks of engineered nanomaterials for environment, human health, and safety.

Funding will be offered to innovative projects focusing on Manufactured NanoMaterials (MNMs) in one of the following thematic fields:

  1. Over-arching aspects of nanosafety research
  2. Exposure assessment
  3. Toxicity mechanisms
  4. Environmental impacts of MNMs
  5. Effects of MNMs on human health

Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve a minimum of three independent partners from at least two regions/countries participating in the call. Projects must last between two and three years. Each applicant must contact his/her national contact person to check for national/regional funding rules. All documents are available at the SIINN website www.siinn.eu
